About Us

Community Assistance In Development (COMAID) is a Non-Governmental organization founded by 10 Board members in January 2007 and registered by the Cameroon Government in 2009.

COMAID

Community Assistance In Development (COMAID) is a Non-Governmental organization founded by 10 Board members in January 2007 and registered by the Cameroon Government in 2009, with registration N0.010/E.29/1111/VOL.8/APPB. COMAID was founded by a multidisciplinary team of very qualified and experienced development practitioners, who came together on the concept of “social exclusion” as the root cause of poverty. COMAID has a pool of experts (Environmentalist, Natural Resource Management Experts, Botanists, Microfinance and Agricultural Value Chain Experts, Development economists and Rural Sociologists, Rural Engineers, Geographers/GIS Experts,) who work together to foster development in communities.

Land Governance

We undertake pro-poor land governance initiatives to enhancing access, control and management of land especially for the vulnerable, marginalized, minority groups and the physically challenged.

Geographic Information Systems

COMAID has successfully integrated GIS/GPS in conservation, Council development Plans, Risk Management, General mapping, Feasibility Studies (water supplies, HEP projects).

Enterprise Development

The enterprise development program seeks to improve access of the poor especially women to markets for economic resources including financial services, skills/technical services, market information, and organisational competence etc.

Natural Resource Management and Biodiversity Conservation

COMAID is keen at ensuring a win-win situation between conservation initiatives and the sustainable development of the local communities living adjacent these important remnants of afromontane forest patches.
